Kapil Sharma Recalls Dharmendra’s Support in His Early Career
While attending the trailer launch of his film, Kapil spoke about how Dharmendra played a major role in his early journey.
He shared that when he first moved to Mumbai, no channel or production house was ready to take a chance on his comedy show.
Kapil said:
“Everyone knows what Dharam ji meant to me. His loss feels like losing a family member. When I lost my father at 22, I needed guidance. Dharam ji filled that space in my life.”
He revealed that he once met Dharmendra on a flight, where their friendship began. When Kapil later approached him for his first show, Dharmendra instantly agreed.
“He didn’t ask me a single question. He told his team, ‘He is my son. Give him dates.’”
‘It Feels Like Losing a Father Again,’ Says Kapil
Kapil expressed that Dharmendra always treated him with love and warmth.
He added:
“Good people make you feel like you always needed more time with them. He lived like a king, and there will never be another like him.”
Kapil’s Emotional Instagram Farewell
Kapil also posted a heartfelt farewell on Instagram, writing:
“Alvida Dharm Paaji 💔. Your passing feels like losing my father again. Your love and blessings will stay with me forever. No one knew how to win hearts like you. You will always live in our memories. May God give you peace.”
Dharmendra’s Last Days and Final Rites
Indian cinema’s beloved icon Dharmendra passed away at his Juhu residence in Mumbai after a brief illness. He was 89 years old and his 90th birthday was just weeks away.
His final rites were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, where many top stars, including Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Sanjay Dutt, came to pay their respects. Security was kept tight as crowds gathered to honor the legendary actor.
