Pakistan Forces Repel Major Taliban Attack on Balochistan Border, 20 Militants Killed – ISPR
Dubai | October 15, 2025 | 0 | news , PakistanPakistani security forces successfully repelled a major cross-border attack launched by the Afghan Taliban in the Spin Boldak sector of Balochistan, the military’s media wing (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to official reports, 15 to 20 Taliban fighters were killed and several others were injured when militants attempted to breach Pakistani posts along the border.
🔥 Multiple Attacks Repelled Near Spin Boldak
The ISPR revealed that Afghan Taliban militants carried out simultaneous attacks at four separate locations near the Pak-Afghan border in the early hours of Wednesday.
“Pakistani troops responded immediately and effectively, neutralizing the aggression with precision strikes,” the ISPR confirmed.
The Taliban reportedly used divided border villages to launch the assault, putting local civilians at risk. During the fighting, the militants blew up the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side of the border — a move the ISPR said reflects a “hostile mindset” toward cross-border trade and tribal movement.
The ISPR added that intelligence reports indicate a possible buildup of Taliban and TTP fighters, suggesting more hostilities may follow.
⚔️ Kurram Sector Also Targeted
In a related incident on the same night, the Kurram sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also came under coordinated fire from Afghan Taliban and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) elements.
Pakistani forces retaliated with what officials called a “measured but powerful response”, destroying eight enemy posts — including six armored positions — and inflicting 25 to 30 militant casualties.
The military dismissed claims that Pakistan initiated the conflict, describing them as false propaganda by the Taliban regime.
🗣️ ISPR: Pakistan’s Response Was Defensive and Decisive
The ISPR emphasized that Pakistan did not initiate the violence, calling Kabul’s narrative a baseless attempt to mislead the public.
“Pakistan reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and will respond with full force to any aggression,” the statement said.
🏛️ Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Commends Armed Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan Army for its strong and timely action.
In an official statement, he condemned the use of Afghan territory by terrorist groups against Pakistan and reaffirmed that national security and integrity will be protected at all costs.
The premier also warned the Taliban government to prevent militant groups from using Afghan soil to destabilize neighboring countries.
⚠️ Rising Border Tensions
This week’s violence marks the third major border clash in less than seven days between Pakistan and Afghanistan, following similar confrontations in Kurram and Chaman.
Earlier skirmishes resulted in the martyrdom of 23 Pakistani soldiers and injuries to nearly 30 others. Pakistan’s military estimates that over 200 Taliban fighters have been killed in recent engagements.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif recently stated that bilateral relations are at a stalemate, describing the current atmosphere as “hostile and unpredictable.”
🌍 Outlook
The border situation remains tense, with both sides trading blame. Pakistan maintains that terror networks operating from Afghan territory are responsible for repeated attacks, while the Taliban claim they are responding to Pakistani airstrikes.
As security challenges escalate, regional stability between Islamabad and Kabul hangs in the balance — underscoring the urgent need for diplomatic engagement and cross-border cooperation to prevent further bloodshed.
