Pakistan Plans Missile Launch in Arabian Sea

After the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, Pakistan has announced a missile test near its Karachi coast. The test will happen on April 24–25 inside Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Indian defence agencies are closely watching the situation.

India Responds with Strong Diplomatic Measures

In reaction to the attack, India has taken serious diplomatic and security actions:

  • Suspended the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism.

  • Ended SAARC visa exemptions for Pakistani citizens.

  • Closed the Attari Integrated Checkpost for Pakistani nationals.

  • Expelled Pakistani defence, naval, and air advisors from India within a week.

  • Cancelled all Special Permission to Enter SAARC (SPES) visas issued to Pakistanis.

  • Ordered all Pakistanis with SPES visas to leave India within 48 hours.

  • Pulled back Indian military advisors from the High Commission in Islamabad.

These steps were decided during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Terror Attack in Pahalgam: A Planned Strike

On April 22, militants from The Resistance Front (TRF) attacked tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaran Valley, killing and injuring many. Indian officials believe the attack aimed to disrupt elections in Jammu and Kashmir and was backed by groups across the border.

All-Party Meeting to Discuss Security Measures

An all-party meeting will take place at 6 PM on Thursday at the Parliament Annexe. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will brief leaders. Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju are also reaching out to political parties.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said India will make sure those behind the attack face consequences. He stressed that the new measures are part of a broader national security strategy.
