Senior Politician’s Statement Sparks Global Outrage

Malik Muhammad, Speaker of Punjab Assembly and a senior leader in Pakistan’s ruling party, has admitted a close link with UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed. In a video shared by journalist Taha Siddiqui, Malik calls Saeed’s party, the Markazi Muslim League (PMML), his “second team.”

Video Clip: “Mera Rishta Hai Hafiz Saeed Ke Saath”

In the viral video, Malik Muhammad says:

“I have a connection with Hafiz Saeed. He had strong ties with my late father. We see the Markazi Muslim League as our second party.”

This public praise of a terrorist shocked many, especially as PMML is believed to be the political wing of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the group behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

UN Criticized for Staying Silent

Afghan MP in exile Mariam Solaimankhil called out the United Nations for ignoring the issue. She tweeted:

“In Pakistan, terror is policy, not an accident. Hafiz Saeed’s son speaks freely. Peaceful voices go to prison. And the UN? Still silent.”

Saeed Lives Comfortably, Despite Prison Sentence

Though Saeed officially serves a 78-year sentence for funding terror, reports say he lives in comfort at his home in Lahore. His house, guarded by Pakistan’s ISI, acts as a “sub-jail,” allowing him to move freely under loose restrictions.

India Demands Saeed’s Extradition

India has always said Pakistan shelters terrorists. Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged Pakistan to hand over Hafiz Saeed and Masood Azhar. He stated:

“Both are on the UN’s terror list. Hafiz Saeed is also guilty of the Mumbai attacks. Justice must be served.”

This followed Indian airstrikes in May targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan. After the attacks, top Pakistani army officers were seen at Lashkar terrorists’ funerals.

Conclusion

This incident confirms fears that Pakistan’s government and army back terrorist networks. The video, along with global reactions, shows the urgent need for action. Critics are now demanding that the UN break its silence and take steps against state-backed terrorism.
